saigon_drive.avi 4.5 Megabytes A short video of Toni and her Uncle scootin' through Saigon. This bit is relatively uncrowded. When the traffic got thick, as it often did, I didn't want to have the camera out. I was riding on the back of another scooter. |

hospital_cave_song.avi 6.4 Megabytes Hospital Cave was an underground convalescence hospital for the Viet Cong during the American War. This guy was a lieutenant who worked in this cave for 10 years, including during the war. He was giving us a tour of the cave and would occasionally burst into song. I bet he kicks some serious karaoke ass. In this video he is singing some sort of viet cong fight song that they used to sing back in the day. Well, actually I think he said it was a song from the perspective of a solider who was missing his homeland. Something like a Viet Cong "Sweet Home Alabama" I suppose. I wish I had more room on my memory card to have gotten the whole thing. |
amazing_cave.avi 6.9 Megabytes The am-aaaaaa-zing cave. In Ha Long Bay. Hai, our vietnamese tour guide with the aussie/cockney accent, would go through the cave pointing at stalagmites or stalactites and say "Do you see the [insert random noun] there?" and then would start to free associate into some personal tangent that often didn't go anywhere. We loved Hai. He was the best tour guide ever. |
bangkok_river_2.avi 2.5 Megabytes The thing I liked about the Bangkok river was that everything was constantly moving. Here Minty waits on a floating bus stop that is rocking up and down. I guess it's not easy to see in the video, as I was rocking up and down too. |
bangkok_river.avi 2.3 Megabytes I just liked the way this junked boat carcass and vegetation was moving around. |
